How to copy ipod music video back to computer on Mac OS?

I deleted all my music and video files by accidenct. Even though I have all the music and video stored on iPod, but I was shocked to find out that you cannot transfer music from your ipod back to itunes and your computer. But I think there must be a way?
For copyright protection sake, Apple prohibits people from copying content from devices like iPod/iPhone to computer. However, this gives us a great deal of troubles. We may lost our video and music if our computers crashed or itunes library lost.

1. Run Aiseesoft iPod to Mac transfer

2. Find the music and video, copy them back
