Why ipod always syncing all songs?

March 30th, 2009
Everytime I connect my ipod it syncs all of my songs, even when nothing has changed since the last sync. Any ideas what this could be?

This problem seems to be regular for new iPod users. Now let me explain how to solve this probelm.

  1. Connect your iPod with your computer and select the iPod in iTunes.
  2. Click the Summary tab then tick Manully manage music.
  3. Click OK then eject the iPod.
  4. Unplug it then plug it back in.
  5. Open iTunes and select it in iTunes.
  6. Click the Summary tab then untick Manually manage music and untick Enable disk use.
  7. Click OK.
  8. It should now sync correctly.

Here are some hints for you to find why your iPod won’t sync certain video:

  • video files with long files name cannot be imported to itunes
  • video with odd resolution, (say 579*584, which the number cannot be divide by 8/16 exactly.)
  • bad converters will also lead to this question.
  • a not-up-to-date itunes may be another question
  • video files with drm protection need authorisation to be synced to iPod.
  • Media file can’t be found, maybe you have move it to somewhere else.
  • There is already content from five other iTunes Store accounts on the iPod.

Then, What is your question?
