Why ipod always syncing all songs?

Everytime I connect my ipod it syncs all of my songs, even when nothing has changed since the last sync. Any ideas what this could be?
This problem seems to be regular for new iPod users. Now let me explain how to solve this probelm.
- Connect your iPod with your computer and select the iPod in iTunes.
- Click the Summary tab then tick Manully manage music.
- Click OK then eject the iPod.
- Unplug it then plug it back in.
- Open iTunes and select it in iTunes.
- Click the Summary tab then untick Manually manage music and untick Enable disk use.
- Click OK.
- It should now sync correctly.
